Overall Opinion:

So overall, this product smells delicious and has decent color, but the application is extremely inconvenient.

I would use this product again, solely just to smell it.  Just kidding but it seriously smells THAT good.

The color produced was decent, and the longer you leave the product on the darker your tan becomes.  However, it is a little bit orange once you shower it off.

You have to wait around with this product on your body for at least an hour before washing it off, I didn’t like that.  I’d rather leave a tanner on overnight and wash it off whenever I feel like it the following day.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

The Fake Bake 60 Minutes Self-Tan Liquid comes out as a dark liquid in the form of a spray.

The guide is almost black, and the product comes out very thin and watery.

Application

This product ended up being easy to apply , but only because a mitt was provided with it.

This spray came with gloves AND a mitt which shows how messy this product could be and how dark the guide is.

The instructions state to put the gloves on and then put on the mitt.  They then tell you to spray the product on the mitt and then apply to your body.

I sprayed the product on my mitt and then rubbed into my body and I had zero mess at all.  Just be careful when aiming for the mitt :)

The only thing I don’t like about using a mitt is it seems like some of the product gets wasted by the mitt soaking it up.

The dark guide blends easily into your skin, just make sure to be careful where you apply it.

NOW here is the catch.  You have to wash this product off within 3 hours.

To achieve a light, natural tan leave it on for 60 minutes.  If you desire a darker tan you can leave it on for up to 3 hours, but no longer than that.

To me this was VERY inconvenient, it disrupted my usual self tanning routine.  I usually go to the gym, shower, apply tanning lotion then sleep.  This one I had to go to the gym, THEN apply tanning lotion and wait an hour to shower.

So I guess if you are looking to achieve a quick, last minute tan this could be a product you want to try, but I’d rather leave a tanner on all night and then shower off the next day.

Drying Time

I found this product dried extremely fast.

I was completely dry in under 15 minutes, but I think that had something to do with not spraying the product directly onto my skin.  I first sprayed onto the mitt, then I rubbed it into my skin.

Smell (Before Application)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of this product.  It smells tropical, like coconut and bananas- whatever it is, it smells delicious!

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

I wish this smell stuck with me after I washed it off, but unfortunately it didn’t.  The plus side is I couldn’t smell any DHA either.

Color Produced

I left the product on for 60 minutes and the color I got was a light, even tan.

It says if you leave the product on for longer you will get a deeper tan.  So the color tan you want to achieve is really up to you.

The color wasn’t streaky, but was a tad bit orange.

How Long It Lasts

I would say this product lasted about 3 days, which is around average.

OK For Men?

If men are looking for a quick tan, they may want to try this.  But I think the guide and the inconvenient application will be enough for them to steer clear of this one.

Price

This Fake Bake product is $31.99 for an 8 oz product.  So it works out to about $4.00 an ounce… which is around average.
