Overall Opinion:
I have gotten lots of requests to review this Australian brand.
I ended up giving Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam 4.25 out of 5 stars, so it was a pretty good product.
They ship to the USA now, but it’s expensive to get it here. I think the shipping alone is about $14.00, on top of the price of the product, your total will be $35+.
There were some things I really liked about this product. First off, the smell is to die for! It smells like coconut and reminds me of being on a beach vacation. What’s not to like about that?
Also, the color produced is very nice.
I ended up with a dark brown tan that looked natural.
You guys know I love being dark, and this one produced a shade I was very happy with.
Unfortunately, that dark tan didn’t last long and it faded away after 2-3 days. I wish it would’ve lasted a few more days.
Application can also be messy, as it is with most mousses.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam is a dark brown foam/mousse.
There’s a very dark guide in it, and its a pretty lightweight foam.
Application
Application can get messy.
Make sure to apply with a tanning mitt so the product doesn’t stain your hands.
I applied mine while standing over a towel just in case any dropped to the floor.
You have to rub the foam in for a few seconds to make sure you cover all areas.
The dark guide is a little daunting because it’s so dark, it looks a little greenish.
Drying Time
This one dried pretty quickly.
I was completely dry in under 20 minutes, which was awesome.
I didn’t feel very sticky or wet while I waited for it to dry either, which was nice.
Smell (Before Application)
This one smells really good!
It smells sweet and tropical, like coconuts.
It reminds me of vacation, I love the smell.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
When I woke up the next morning I couldn’t smell any DHA or coconut smell.
Color Produced
I used the foam in the “dark” shade, and I was surprised how dark it actually got me.
A lot of self tanners that are dark, end up giving me a medium shade tan, but this one gave me a dark tan.
The color was a natural brown color, and any green that was seen in the guide washed away once I showered.
The color was very smooth, I loved how it looked.
How Long It Lasts
Unfortunately my great tan faded after about 2-3 days :(
I really liked the dark tan it gave me, so I was hoping it would last a little longer, but it didn’t.
As it faded my legs became quite splotchy as well.
OK For Men?
Men, if you’re looking for a dark tan I think you may like this one.
It’s great for a special occasion or day at the beach, but don’t expect your tan to last more than 3 days.
Also, the application is pretty messy so be careful with that.
Price
The price of this one works out to about $24.00 in US dollars.
That’s $3.42 per ounce which is pretty average.
